Some of my fav pregnancy things!

Overall I am a pretty simple person and it doesn’t take much to make me happy… I am also proud of the fact that I try to raise my daughter as a pretty simple person too and remind her what is important ( ex: not a million toys). There are however some things that I love, I am really grateful for and couldn’t imagine my life without them -Chipotle and Trader joe’s fall in here too 😉

I am always grateful when someone gives me a great recommendation so I thought I could do the same of some of my fav things this pregnancy.

Ginger Chews: I bought these from trader joe’s when I first found out I was pregnant because I was super sick with my daughter so just incase I wanted to be prepared!!  a few weeks went by and sure enough I was ripping into the bag.  They worked great and it was awesome to be individually wrapped so I could keep them in my car, purse, camera bag, and wherever else I needed!

Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth:  After my mom attended a showing of “More Business of being born ” with me she purchased this book for me.  I couldn’t have been happier that she did… I had heard wonderful things about it but knowing me ,buying it would have stayed on my to-do list for too long.  The book is full of inspiring birth stories that are so wonderful to read.  I loved reading a couple stories before bed, it was very relaxing and encouraging.  It also covers things such as prenatal care, labor, delivery and VBACS.

Summer Sander’s Prenatal workout DVD was recommended to me and I love it! It has workouts for all three trimesters and gives you the option to do a full work out or an express one.

We’re having a homebirth!! : A book for kids to help them understand more about birth/ homebirth.  Charley thought it was great!  You can order it here:

I am still looking to find a natural soap (no chemicals, no fragrance ) for me… if anyone knows a good one I would love to hear your recommendations!!  Thanks in advance!!

  1. There is a place at the Rustbelt Market in Ferndale that sells a lot of homemade soaps, that might be a good place to check out. At the very least, the people running the booth would know exactly what’s in it.
